The Tiara

Fifteen years ago, thanks to my brother Jeff, I discovered Elizabeth Johnson's glass bead work. I was gobsmacked when I first laid eyes on her work and I knew that someday I would make a piece with them.

This project took me roughly 3 1/2 years to design, engineer, and build. I spent a year just teaching myself to do vitreous enameling with special thanks to the late Martha Banyas for helping me.

The little bezel set diamonds on the head band are actually the heads of screws that hold the parts in place.
